Improve Your Social Media Game

Completely transform your online presence with these tips to help your business thrive in the current day and age

Improve your social media game

Growing and developing a business in today's economy can be a difficult task. One of the most helpful ways to encourage growth and further interaction with your business is by taking full advantage of everything that our modern age in technology has to offer. Along with websites and online advertising there is a crucial influencer that can play a specific role in the success of your business. What are we talking about? Your business's social media.

Here are a few ways you can improve your social media to increase your sales and broaden your brand’s name. With these few tips and rules to follow, your business can start reaching more prospect customers.

The Look

Social media can vary from one account to the next. Although there are some differences; in which we will go over, there are some main initiatives that will improve your social media strategy. Facebook is a very universal tool that can be used to target those interested in what your brand offers. This account allows for almost limitless ways to share, post, and create visuals and content with just a click of a button. There are no limits on the number of characters used within the posts which allows a business to fully capture their audience without having to cut crucial information out of their posts.

Twitter; although a very important social media platform, can be a bit trickier when it comes to how much content can be shared within a single post. They do limit the content posted to 140 characters or less. This forces the brand to provide very concise content.

On Instagram businesses are restricted to a single video or small photo slide that can quickly capture an audience through visuals. Although it does allow text below the images, users want to be able to depict the message solely by the visual being used. A user’s best approach would be narrowing a focus or specific appearance they would like to reflect, due to the visual effects this platform uses.

Since each social media platform provides their own variations of what they allow to be posted, your business will have to have slightly different ways of presenting your message within each social media account. To adequately reach your social media audiences you will have to tweak your presentation slightly depending on the platform being used.

The Tags

Although there are many differences between each social media platform, there are some similarities that can allow a business to cue into what they would like their post to be about. Hashtags are a good example of this similarity. They are used throughout all the social media platforms and most of the top hashtag words or phrases can be popular throughout all platforms. They are used as an easy way to refine searches among what the user would like to find and connect with.

During the early days after the release of Twitter, hashtags were used frequently and now today they are still being used on the majority of posts. Each day brings a new trending hashtag that can be utilized with posts to promote a topic and keep the audience informed all over the world about infinite resources.

Using hashtags created specifically for your business is great way to promote your business and help it become more recognized among prospects. Although creating your own hashtags can sometimes be difficult due to the huge number of them floating throughout the internet, once a brand narrows in on one it can be a very valuable resource.

The Customers

Interaction with your customers can be just as, if not more important than the original post. Once something is posted on a social media account your followers and the strangers alike have the ability to like, share, or comment on your post. Be sure your business can reply to it’s comments and questions within a reasonable amount of time. Doing this is one of the best ways to show your followers that you appreciate their input and interaction.

Although those following a brand usually are there to learn more about what a business has to offer, there are those who do not have the business’s best interests at heart. This is where unsolicited criticism can come into play. As a business, you cannot control how others interact with your posts, however, you do have the ability to respond in an appropriate way. No matter what is said, try to find a positive way to respond without drumming up controversy. The way a business responds on the internet can truly reflect what kind of people are behind the brand and it can shape their public image.

To have a successful and impactful outreach, it is necessary for a business to have several social media accounts. Try to use these tips when you go about setting up and running your social media accounts. If you do not know how to run each account in an accurate and effective way, don't fret.
